Ashden {sweet baby boy}

Oh how I love this sweet baby boy.  And I am pretty sure he loves me too ;)  A dear friend of mine is the lucky momma of this little man.  I had these plans to take some photos of her and baby in the hospital before they left and entered back into the real world and life at home with 4 other children eagerly awaiting their return.  So I went to the hospital Thursday afternoon, took some photos, which I thought would turn out ok but we had a hard time getting any because baby boy was not wanting his picture taken.  I get home and found that I have NONE of the photos saved.  Awesome.  So I had to send the embarrassing text asking if it would be ok for me to come back up the next morning for a re-do ;)  Thankfully my sweet friend was not upset and wanted me to come back up.  Turns out that this is exactly what we needed.  Ashden still wasn't having it but thru some trial and error we found the best place to take his photos, in his momma's arms.  I am so thankful that Amber gave me grace and a ton of room for error.  I am so happy that we got some good shots and for the learning opportunity of what works and doesn't work!!

Another one of my sweet models :)  This little girl is the tiniest little babe.  So petite and girly.  Her momma is loving having a little girl to put bows on after 3 boys.  You can never have enough accessories right?!?

Henry {Newborn Photography}

Let me just say, Henry is adorable!  As I am on this journey of discovering what it is I want to do with photography I have been seeking out "models" to practice on.  Henry was one of those.  I am not where I want to be yet and am really enjoying learning and growing.  I am very thankful to the momma's who are letting me learn on their babes ;)  I am loving the challenge of finding the perfect light or angle to get the light I want.  I have only used natural light until the past few months when I decided that these Iowa winters with ridiculously cold temps were not going to work!  My house is not really set up with a lot of space with natural light so I decided to try some artificial lighting…  huge difference!  I like natural lighting best for sure, but like how I can control the artificial light.   Thank you  for sticking with me on this adventure and watching my failures and successes :)  Now to showcase little Henry…
